Sustainability Controller

We are seeking a Sustainability Controller to join the Nordic Capital Advisory team—a unique opportunity to work with some of the world’s most dynamic companies, driving long-term and sustainable growth.

In this role you will gain deep insights into sustainability within private equity across multiple sectors and geographies while supporting ESG performance that contribute to Nordic Capital’s broader sustainability strategy. You will be part of a dedicated ESG team based in Stockholm, reporting directly to the Head of Sustainability. 

Role Overview

Lead ESG data control, reporting, and disclosure, providing insights to enhance sustainability performance across the firm and its investments. You will oversee data collection, validation, calculations, and reporting in a dynamic environment with strong opportunities for professional growth. Working closely with the investment organization and senior executives, you will drive sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with ESG standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage internal and external sustainability reporting at firm and portfolio levels.
• Ensure timely and accurate ESG data submissions to lenders, LPs, and other stakeholders.
• Strengthen data verification processes to enhance reporting accuracy and reliability.
• Improve sustainability data digitization, quality, and alignment with reporting standards.
• Conduct in-depth ESG and climate performance analyses at portfolio, sector, and fund levels for inclusion in quarterly and biannual Portfolio Performance Reviews.
• Lead and support annual sustainability data collection across Nordic Capital’s investments.

Who You Are

We are looking for an analytical, detail-oriented professional with a passion for sustainability and ESG data management. You have a proactive mindset, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and excel in both independent work and team-driven collaboration. Your strong communication skills enable you to simplify complex ESG data and effectively present insights to diverse stakeholders. 

Your Background:

• 2–3 years of experience in sustainability controlling, consulting, or business analytics, coupled with a relevant academic background.
• Prior experience in Sustainability/ESG data management with an understanding of key ESG regulatory frameworks (SFDR, CSRD, UNPRI, etc.).
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex ESG data into clear, actionable insights.
• Strong ability to manage and analyze large datasets using Excel and BI tools, ensuring accuracy and strategic decision-making.
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team-driven environment.
