Senior Compliance Officer

We are currently seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join East Capital Group, a global asset management company. As an independent asset management group, East Capital Group offers various strategies and specializations to provide active management solutions in equities, bonds, and real estate assets.

As Senior Compliance Officer you will monitor and ensure that East Capital Group complies with relevant laws, regulations, directives, and internal policies. This involves staying up to date with regulatory changes and ensuring the alignment with them. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing policies, educating colleagues, reporting, and documenting compliance activities.

This position will report to the Head of Legal & Compliance and will be based at the headquarters in central Stockholm.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support and monitor the companies' compliance with a focus on the securities market, fund management, insurance distribution and business done via tied agents.
  • Provide guidance and development of internal policies, conduct training, tracking new regulations, and improving the Compliance function and its practical implementation.
  • Consistently stay updated on business-critical directives, regulations, and updates within MiFID, UCITS, AIF, IDD, AML and ESG.
  • Proactively and independently navigate within the organization, including natural counterparts such as Investment Management, Legal, Sales, and the Management-team.
  • Communication with the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (FI) to report and respond to any inquiries or audits.
  • You will have great support and tight collaboration with the legal team.

Desired profile:

  • Law degree with +7 years of relevant working experience (such as: bank, fund/asset manager, consulting- or law firm).
  • Extensive knowledge from MiFID, UCITS and AIFs, MAR, GDPR and preferably IDD.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG-work and well-versed in related directives (SFDR).
  • You adapt your language and communication to the audience, you enjoy speaking to groups, presenting, and educating in your expertise.
  • Your preference leans towards smaller organizations, and you embrace a hands-on, down-to-earth approach.
  • Completely fluent in Swedish and English, spoken and written.
